Career Opportunities

Current Openings:

Jack or Jacqueline of all Trades! Customer Service / Tech Support / QA

Type of Employment: Part Time, Contract/Project

Pay rate: $15 - $17 per hour

THIS IS NOT A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION, PROGRAMMING, OR SOFTWARE TESTING POSITION.

Your duties may include some of these, but the focus is on taking care of our customers!

What we want:

Brilliant, kind people with LOTS OF CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!

We are looking for:

- Dedication

- Stability

- Vision

- Flexibility

- Humility

- Great troubleshooting skills.

- The love to do "original research" and *digging in* to technical details to find out info to share with others, rather than being dependent on the original research of others.

- Someone who is and fits in with left-brained geeks that love to be with people.

- Someone that *enjoys* learning such that you will frequently reside outside the comfort zone of what you already know: i.e., being comfortable in the uncomfortable!

We're a small, growing company that has a familial, casual and rewarding work environment. We offer tremendous opportunity for future leadership positions for those who prefer doing work that is relevant and useful to doing work that is merely "cool"!

We take a creative, experimental, and evolutionary approach to learning and development.

What we don't want:

- Heavily I.T.-focused people who have only served coworkers

- Perfectionists that have to plan extensively before trying something

- People that are hesitant in getting on the phones

- Impatient people

- A jerk! We actually have a "no butthead" rule!

- Someone more interested in their story about what happened than what actually happened in any given scenario

- People who are not adaptable

- People that err on the side of asking rather than investigating

- You think about the future but base your idea of what is possible on the past

Responsibilities:

Flexibility is a MUST because responsibilities change as new needs come up!

- Take Tech Support calls

- Make daily calls to our existing customers to keep in touch and find out what we should be working on

- Customer Service

- Test and validate the software

- Process some fulfillment (shipping, etc)

- Act like a kindergarten teacher: Be able to speak to an audience of customers that know considerably less about our software and computers than you do, yet do so with patience and without condescension!

- Be willing to step to the forefront with your given area of expertise if it fits a legitimate business need. We're building future executives here!

- We're 24/365, so be flexible to working non-standard shift times

Qualifications:

- Have or be in the process of getting a college degree

- Experience working with external customers

- Clear communication skills, oral and written

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in a group

- Ability to enhance the productivity of your workmates

- Desire to share/pass on what you've learned to others

- Pre-teacher would be a plus

- Experience with application software installation, use, and support

Basically, we need a person who's learned to blend technology-mindedness with a desire to talk and work with people and help them.

Also, we need someone who really loves doing the relevant - one piece of our company's philosophy:

"There are (at least) 2 types of architects, for instance. One that would like to work on a plain-Jane bridge over which 50,000 cars per day will drive and another that would like to work on a cutting-edge geodesic dome in the middle of the desert that few people will ever see."

We are looking for the sort of people that yearn to work on our software equivalent of the bridge! Essentially, we greatly prefer relevance over coolness.
