TurboSquish Compressed Printing
|
These days, attorneys and judges are all clamoring for a way to carry
less paper; to make the transcripts smaller. Compressed printing programs
have been around for some time, allowing you to print an ASCII file produced
from your CAT software with more than one page on each sheet of paper.
TurboSquish has expanded and improved on the concept.
TurboSquish is without a doubt the easiest way to produce compressed
transcripts. Unlike all of the third-party products that operate on an
ASCII file, TurboSquish was designed to work with TurboCAT.
When TurboSquish installs, it doesn't load as a separate program
for you to learn, it appears as a new set of options in your "print" dialog
in TurboCAT. You will then see options like:
|
|
- Standard print (1 page/sheet)
- 2 pages/sheet (sideways)
- 4 pages/sheet
- 6 pages/sheet
- 6 pages/sheet (sideways)
- double sided printing
- font selection
If you're not using the features, then you just turn off the TurboSquish
options and print as usual. One keystroke from within the "print" dialog,
and you have the options at your fingertips again.

Preserving the format
TurboSquish produces miniaturized copies of the page itself,
including elements like transcript boxes, timecodes, bold print and underlining.
If you've formatted your page the way you like it, you don't have to repeat
the process to design a new page format with your compressed printing
software.
Also, because it is working within TurboCAT, reprinting just
a few pages is easy. Just tell TurboCAT you want to print, and
it automatically remembers the last settings you used for TurboSquish.
Your reprinted page(s) will automatically match the originals.

Compatibility
TurboSquish works with any HP LaserJet compatible printer, which
includes most of the laser and inkjet printers on the market today. If
you have a duplexing printer, like the HP LaserJet 4D, TurboSquish
will automatically display a "print on both sides of the paper" option
as well. If your printer doesn't handle printing on both sides of the
page, there's a duplex option that will print all the front sides and
then prompt you to put the pages back in upside down so it can print the
back sides.

The obvious choice
If you're using TurboCAT, then TurboSquish is the product
of choice for you, not only because of its seamless integration into TurboCAT
and its compression features, but because the price just can't be beat!
